Privacy Policy for ShieldBrain

The short version ShieldBrain works entirely on your device. We do not collect, sell, share, upload or transmit your personal data — there is no account, no cloud, no analytics, no ads and no tracking of any kind. Your scroll counts never leave your phone.

ShieldBrain is developed by LunarForgeLabs. This Privacy Policy explains how ShieldBrain handles user data.

ShieldBrain is built to work locally on your device. We do not collect, sell, share, upload, or transmit your personal data to our servers. The app does not use analytics, advertising trackers, third-party tracking SDKs, or user accounts.

Data stored on your device

ShieldBrain may store the following information locally inside the app on your device:

Your reel/short-form video count history
Counts by supported app
App settings, theme, bubble size, and tracking preferences
Onboarding answers and name, if you choose to enter them

This data stays in the app's local storage and is used only to show your dashboard, stats, counter bubble, and app settings.

Accessibility Service

ShieldBrain uses Android's Accessibility Service to detect when supported short-form video screens are visible, such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook Reels, and Snapchat Spotlight.

This access is used only to recognize supported reel/shorts screens and update your on-device counter.

ShieldBrain does not use Accessibility Service data to read passwords, private messages, personal conversations, payment information, or other sensitive personal content. Accessibility data is processed locally on your device and is not sent to us or any third party.

Overlay permission

ShieldBrain may request "Display over other apps" permission to show a small counter bubble while you use supported apps. This overlay does not record your screen, capture input, or send information anywhere.

Data we do not collect

ShieldBrain does not collect or transmit:

Location
Contacts
Photos or videos
Camera or microphone data
SMS or call logs
Financial or payment information
Health data
Device identifiers for advertising
Social media account credentials
Private messages or passwords

Sharing and selling data

We do not sell, rent, trade, share, or transfer user data to third parties.

Supported apps such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Snapchat are not partners of ShieldBrain. ShieldBrain only detects supported screens locally on your device.

Internet and third-party services

The current version of ShieldBrain does not require internet access to provide its core functionality. We do not operate a server that receives user data from the app.

Depending on your Android device settings, Android system backup or device transfer features may back up app data through your Google account. This is controlled by Android and your Google account settings, not by ShieldBrain.

Data retention and deletion

All ShieldBrain data is stored locally on your device until you delete it.

You can delete local ShieldBrain data at any time by:

Uninstalling the app, or
Going to Android Settings > Apps > ShieldBrain > Storage > Clear data

Because ShieldBrain does not collect data on our servers, there is no server-side account or data for us to delete.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if ShieldBrain's features or data practices change. Any updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
